  • Confirmed

    A regulator registry in Curaçao lists a licence for the company 1Win N.V. A government notification in India sets 1 May 2026 as the start date of the Online Gaming Act. Both are published documents you can open yourself.

  • Unclear

    The registry status reads Assessment in progress next to a date that has already passed. We report that wording as written and do not translate it into valid or expired. Which web address is the operator's own India-facing one is also unsettled.

  • Not found

    In the sources used here, no Indian authorisation for 1win turns up. A foreign licence is not permission under Indian law, so legality in India stays unanswered by it.

  • Your call

Is 1win real or fake? A fair reading

A company can be real and still be a poor choice for you. The question splits into three parts: does the business exist, does it hold a licence, and is it allowed where you live.

  • Does it exist?

    A Curaçao registry entry names 1Win N.V. as a licensee with company number 147039, and Goal.com says the brand began in 2016 as FirstBet before becoming 1win in 2018. That points to a real business.

  • Is the licence in order?

    The same registry shows the status Assessment in progress with an expiry date of 6 March 2026. Casino.guru separately says 1win Casino holds a Curaçao licence. We cannot call it valid or lapsed.

  • Is it permitted for you?

    That depends on Indian law, covered below. Real does not mean lawful in India, and a licence abroad does not settle it.

MONEY AND THE ACT

The 1win online gaming act question: payments

The Press Information Bureau says the Act bars banks and payment systems from processing related transactions. Goal.com still lists several Indian payment names for 1win, and we could not confirm whether they currently work, so treat any payment claim with care.

  • UPI

    Listed by a review as a deposit and withdrawal method for Indian accounts. Whether UPI transactions still go through after 1 May 2026 is unconfirmed.

  • Google Pay

    Also named by the same review. Its status under the Act is unconfirmed, and we do not claim it works.

  • Paytm

    Another name on that list. Payment systems are exactly what the press note says the Act restricts for related transactions.

  • PhonePe

    Named alongside the others. Treat the listing as a reviewer's report from a certain date, not a promise of service.

  • Identity check

    1win reportedly requires KYC, and an identity document is typically requested before a first withdrawal. Completing it early is the usual advice.

An online betting and casino brand. Goal.com says it was founded in 2016 as FirstBet and renamed in 2018. Its sportsbook and casino are described in the game pages.
